PNP deploys forces to secure 2nd Bangsamoro plebiscite

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sent off forces to secure places where the 2nd plebiscite for Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), creating Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), will be held on February 6. PNP Police Director General Oscar Albayalde today visited Cotabato Provincial Police Office in relation to BOL plebiscite security preparations.

On February 6, municipalities of Baloi, Munai, Nunungan, Pantar, Tagoloan and Tangkal in Lanao del Norte; and in 39 barangays in the municipalities of Aleosan, Carmen, Kabacan, Midsayap, Pigkawayan and Pikit in North Cotabato will vote for their inclusion or non-inclusion in the BARMM created under BOL.

“Under a similar operational template applied in the 1st BOL Plebiscite in January 21, the PNP is fielding a smaller contingent of 3,209 police personnel in 588 polling centers for the February 6 BOL Plebiscite that will be supervised thru the plebiscite monitoring action center at the PRO 12 Headquarters in General Santos city,” Albayalde said on February 4.
