PNP chief leads destruction of marijuana in La Union


Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Debold Sinas led the burning of 37,200 kilos of marijuana during his command visit at Camp BGen Oscar M Florendo in San Fernando City, La Union on January 3.

He was accompanied by PRO 1 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Rodolfo Azurin, JR. and the command group.

In a statement, General Sinas said “the PNP has successfully reduced the supply of marijuana in the streets during the holiday season.”


He also noted the continuing eradication operations of clandestine marijuana farms in the hinterlands, particularly in the Cordillera region which is a natural habitat of the prohibited plant.

“The relentless marijuana eradication efforts of PNP units in the Cordillera, in coordination with PDEA, led to a scarcity in the supply of Marijuana products to users in other parts of the country,” he said.
