PHL should consider bringing WPS issue to UN assembly: del Rosario

“I think it’s time for us to consider going to the UN General Assembly to be able to get the necessary votes to persuade China to abide by the outcome of the arbitral tribunal,” former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario said at the sidelines of an event of the Philippine Bar Association in Makati City on July 31.

He also noted Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. is doing the right thing for filing diplomatic protest over the recent swarming of Chinese Fishing boats near Pag-asa Island in West Philippine Sea.

“I think that Secretary Locsin is doing his best in terms of the issues we have against China,” he added.

“Diplomatic protest fired off,” Secretary Locsin said in his Twitter account July 31 after National Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. said that 113 Chinese fishing vessels were monitored off Pag-asa Island in July 24 to 25.
