PHL sending new defense attachés to Australia, South Korea

The Philippines is sending new defense attachés to Australia, South Korea. Australia-bound Marine Colonel Alexander Gigantone and South Korea-bound Army Colonel Enriqueto Deocadez paid a courtesy call to Navy chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo J. Bacordo before leaving for their new post.

Vice Admiral Bacordo congratulated the two military officers for their new posts and enjoined them to best represent our country’s Armed Forces to the country of their designation.

The Philippine Navy said that Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attachés (PhilDAFAs) are assigned at the Philippine Embassy in foreign countries and serve as the senior representatives of the Chief of Staff, AFP, and the Secretary of National Defense on enhancing relationships through defense cooperation and exchanges among countries’ defense and armed forces.
