PHL patrol ship hold coordinated patrol with Malaysian vessel

Philippine Navy’s Miguel Malvar-class patrol ship BRP Miguel Malvar (PS-19) has successfully conducted a Coordinated Maritime Patrol and Naval Exercise with Royal Malaysian Navy vessel KD SRI Johor (YS 49) at vicinity of Tambisan Island, Malaysia.

The said naval activity was held March 4 in connection with the Trilateral Cooperative Agreement (TCA) with Malaysia and Indonesia.

“Aside from the conduct of coordinated patrol, Publication Exercise (PUBEX), OOW Maneuvering Exercise (MANEX), Semaphore Exercise (SEMAPHOREX) and Manning the Rail and Passing Honors were also conducted,” BRP Miguel Malvar information office said.

It noted that this “maritime activity has been regularly conducted to strengthen our diplomatic relations and friendships with Malaysia and Indonesia as well as enhance the interoperability and security cooperation with our neighboring countries with common maritime areas of concern.”
