The Philippine Navy sent off Tarlac-class landing platform dock BRP Davao del Sur (LD-602) on April 7, 2018 at Sasa Wharf, Sasa, Davao City for a coordinated patrol operations with Republic of Indonesian Navy dubbed as CORPAT PHILINDO XXXII-18 from April 10 to 29.
CORPAT PHILINDO XXXII-18 aims secure the maritime border areas between the Philippines and Indonesia from any illegal activities and enhance the interoperability as well as foster a harmonious relationship between the two neighboring countries, Philippine Navy’s Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao said.
Activities for CORPAT PHILINDO XXXII-18 will begin with an opening ceremony in Manado, Indonesia on April 10.
“Part of the coordinated patrol operations are sea serials, shipboard exercises and coordinated patrol between the two navies along border areas between Indonesia and Philippines,” Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao said.
“This activity will also pave way for the repatriation of Filipino fishermen who had been apprehended in Indonesia,” it added.
