Activities for DAGIT-PA started July 23 and were held in Palawan, Zambales and Nueva Ecija.
“The Philippine Army’s participation is focused in the conduct of Command Post and Field Training activities that is anchored on Territorial Defense and Internal Security Operations as the exercise themes for this year,” PA said.
“The scenario that concerns Territorial Defense involves an escalating maritime security situation that would lead to crisis and conflict. In the process, the AFP will be required to apply its unilateral defense plan,” PA said.
It added that Army contingent plays a key role in the airfield seizure and military operation in urban terrain (MOUT) as part of the scenario. “Such scenario will be complemented by a counter-terrorism situation that developed in urban environment as drawn from the real world experience such as the recent Marawi conflict,” the PA added.
“The goal of the emphatic training is to enhance and equip the personnel and unit capacities of joint forces that will surely enable the essence of readiness to address contingencies across mission areas,” PAF said.
“Organized workshop were all carefully planned and progressively sequenced in such a way that an event or an activity will lead to the other benefited more than one component,” PAF added.
