The Philippine Navy is programmed to get 2 new corvettes under Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program Second Horizon.

HHI and DND signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) “for the design and construction of new patrol combat corvette the Philippine Navy is going to acquire next year,” South Korean government Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said in a release.

The signing was held at the sidelines of launching of second Jose Rizal-class frigate future BRP Antonio Luna in Ulsan, South Korea on November 8.

“It reaffirms both countries’ willingness toward defense cooperation for follow-up programs and increases likelihood of winning a contract in the future,” DAPA added.
