PHL, Indonesia hold coordinated maritime patrol

Philippine Navy and Indonesian Navy naval assets that completed patrol activities under CORPAT PHILINDO XXXII-18 arrived at Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City on July 17.

Philippine Navy Miguel Malvar-class corvette BRP Cebu (PS-28) and Indonesian Navy Clurit-class fast attack craft KRI Terapang (648) were welcomed by Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM)-Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) led by NFEM commander Commodore Ramil Roberto B. Enriquez.

“The fourteen (14) days coordinated border patrol operation is the continuation of the successful 1st Stage of CORPAT PHILINDO XXXII-18 conducted on April 10-29, 2018 with the aim to secure the border areas between two countries from any illegal activities; enhance maritime interoperability and foster a harmonious diplomatic relation between the two countries,” NFEM said.

NFEM said CORPAT PHILINDO is an annual coordinated border patrol between the Philippine Navy and Indonesian Navy whereby two navies undertake series of sea serials and other naval operations along the border areas.
