The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has presented its second Airbus H145 light twin engine helicopter. It also noted that PCG is the first coast guard organization in the world to operate the H145.
“Said aerial assets with tail numbers CGH-1451 and CGH-1452 are equipped with high frequency radios, emergency flotation gears, as well as fast-roping, cargo sling, search light, and electro-optical systems to perform critical missions including search and rescue, medical evacuation, and maritime patrol operation,” PCG said.
It noted that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, CGH-1451 and CGH-1452 will augment humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations of the PCG, specifically in transporting personal protective equipment (PPE) sets, medical supplies, and medicines to far-flung areas and coastal communities in support of the national government’s fight for public health and safety.
“Above all, said aerial assets will significantly enhance PCG’s capabilities in upholding maritime law enforcement, maritime search and rescue, maritime security, maritime safety, and marine environmental protection in service to the Republic of the Philippines,” PCG added.
