PHL Army sniper team joins Russia-led International Army Games

A team of Philippine Army snipers are now in Belarus to participate in the Sniper Competition portion of Russia-led International Army Games 2018.

“They will be up against some of the best snipers in the world and will be using Russian sniper rifles,” Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta said in his social networking page.

Philippine Defense Attache in Moscow Colonel Dennis Pastor will be joining the Philippine Army sniper team.

“This is the first time the Philippines will be participating in these games,” Sorreta said. “The International Army Games will be from July 28 to August 11, 2018, in six countries, including in Iran for the first time.”

International Army Games 2018 will feature obstacle course, relay, live firing, target, and race competitions for tank, K-9, infantry, armored vehicle, aircraft, amphibious unit, artillery, drone, among others.

Sniper Rifle competition which is the lone event the Philippines is joining will be held in Belarus.
