The Philippines has awarded Airbus a contract that will supply the Philippine Air Force (PAF) with one unit of Command and Control (C2) Fixed Wing Turbo Prop Aircraft.
The contract, awarded October 16, has a price tag of PHP1.8 billion.
According to MaxDefense Philippines, “it is expected that the Airbus will supply a C-295 medium tactical aircraft and will be configured for VVIP and C2 use, and will replace the Fokker F27 still being used by the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing.”
The Philippine Air Force is currently operating three C-295 as medium tactical transport aircraft under the 220th Airlift Wing.
