The Philippine Navy conducted interoperability and skills development with reserve sailors and Marines during Exercise Pagsasama 2019 held November 11 to 15 in Naval Forces Western Mindanao area of operations.

BRP Davao Del Sur (LD602) served as one of the platforms in various at-sea events of the exercise which include Photo Exercise, Man Overboard Exercise, Semaphore Exercise, Flight Quarters Operation and Amphibious Operations.

BRP Davao Del Sur also facilitated the orientation and training of participating Navy reservists in shipboard administration.

“The reservists will always be our partner in the pursuit of our end-state goal- a long-lasting peace and progress which I believe can be achieved through people empowerment in addressing challenging environment and patriotic response to opportunities geared to reinvigorate an economically sustainable society,” Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana said in his keynote message.

“It is widely recognized that knowledge and know-how are the keys to success. But I also agree with the statement uttered by the NBA Coach Pat Riley that if you are not getting better, you are getting worse. So, make the most out of this Pagsasama Training so that you will be able to enhance whatever you have learned and developed in the past,” Sobejana said.
