Philippine Fleet celebrates 83rd Founding Anniversary

The Philippine Fleet has celebrated its 83rd Founding Anniversary. The celebration started with a sunrise flag raising ceremony aboard BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS37) at Commo. Posadas Wharf, Naval Station Pascual Ledesma, Fort San Felipe, Cavite City.

The celebration’s theme was “Philippine Fleet @83: Modern, Multi-Capable, and Resilient Vanguard of Our Seas”.

“Our celebration this year is far from the spectacle of past years – without frills and trimmings. Sans the pageantry that used to define Navy celebrations. But even without the pomp and display, nothing can deny us of our right to relish in the glory of our prolific history. And our gallant men and women shall not be deprived of the recognition they deserve. I assure everyone that there is no diminution in the profoundness of our cognizance of the valuable contribution of our noble-spirited sailors and aviators,” Fleet commander Rear Admiral Alberto B. Carlos said.

The Philippine Fleet said the highlight of the celebration was the awarding of the Philippine Fleet’s Outstanding Units, Personnel, Vessel, Aircraft, and other stakeholders for their valuable performance and significant contribution in the accomplishment of the Philippine Fleet’s mission.

The Philippine Fleet said that as vanguards of Philippine waters it “will always be committed to the fulfillment of our vision to be a modern and multi-capable navy responsive to our maritime nation’s defense and development.”
