The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)’s offshore patrol vessel BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) was sent off for a new mission today, June 18.
The new mission involves the third leg of maritime exercise under Task Force Pagsasanay.
The PCG did not mention where the iteration of said exercise will be held. The first and second iterations of maritime exercise under Task Force Pagsasanay were both held in West Philippine Sea.
PCG said that three of its aerial assets will also participate in the upcoming maritime exercise. The three aerial assets are Coast Guard Aviation Force (CGAF) BN Islander Plane with tail number PCG-251 and helicopters CGH-1451, CGH-1452.
The PCG also said that the upcoming maritime exercises will be followed by a humanitarian mission in the farthest coastal community in the country.
