PCG ships hold anti-piracy, anti-terrorism training in aim to becoming ‘world-class’


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has conducted anti-terrorism and anti-piracy training in water of Sibutu Passage on June 24.  Sibutu Passage is separating Borneo and Sulu Archipelago.

“Sa pagsasagawa ng malawakang capability enhancement training sa iba’t-ibang katubigan ng bansa, layon ng PCG na lalong mapagbuti ang kakayanan ng mga miyembro nito, kasabay ng pagkakaroon ng karagdagang asset, tungo sa pagiging isang WORLD-CLASS PHILIPPINE COAST GUARD,” PCG said.


PCG said that BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), BRP Tubbataha (MRRV-4401), BRP Bagacay (MRRV-4410), and BRP Cape Engaño (MRRV-4411) participated in the training event.

Coast Guard Aviation Force (CGAF) assets BN Islander Plane (PCG-251), and 2 Airbus H145 light twin-engine helicopters (CGH-1451 and CGH-1452) also participated in the event.
