PCG gets boost in capability and readiness with new assets

Today, Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade, and PCG Commandant Admiral Elson Hermogino led the Blessing and Turnover Ceremony for the newly-acquired assets of the PCG.

These assets include the recently-arrived 12 seven-meter rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs) which will function in patrol and interception tasks, transport of crew and equipment, rescue operations, and diving support.

These RHIBs will be strategically deployed to 12 PCG Districts in Northwestern Luzon, National Capital Region (NCR), Coast Guard Special Operation Force in Manila, Bicol, Southern Tagalog, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Southwestern Mindanao, Southeastern Mindanao, Palawan, and Northern Mindanao.

Other assets for turnover include a 4×4 pick-up with trailer hitch ball and mount, a bus, and a fully-equipped ambulance. DOTR
