PCG, BFAR hold maritime exercises in West Philippine Sea


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) conducted maritime exercises on April 24 in West Philippine Sea.

PCG spokesperson Commodore Armando Balilo has released photos of the said maritime exercise.


On April 21, the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) said more government assets were deployed in the West Philippine Sea in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to sustain sovereign patrols, increase safety of life at sea, and intensify operations against illegal fishing.

NTF-WPS said as augmentation to vessels and aircraft already operating under the control of Area Task Forces West and North, 4 PCG vessels, 1 PCG aircraft, 6 BFAR vessels were deployed.
