Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (ITX) is now 60% complete, the Department of Transportation said. The DOTr is targeting an April 2018 completion.
“The Department of Transportation (DOTr) instructed its concessionaire, Megawide-Waltermart (MWM), to mobilize more human and capital resources to meet its target completion date by April 2018,” DOTr said.
“The fast tracking of Parañaque ITX’s project implementation commenced upon the instruction of DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, immediately after the receipt of the ‘Notice to Proceed’ which happened during the current administration,” DOTr added.
Parañaque ITX, also known as Southwest Terminal of the Integrated Transport System (ITS), is being constructed within a site area of 4.59 hectares.
“It will connect passengers coming from the Cavite side to other transport systems such as the future LRT Line 1 South Extension, city bus, taxi, and other public utility vehicles that are serving inner Metro Manila,” says in the Public-Private Partnership Center website.
“The project will include passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure bays, public information systems, ticketing and baggage handling facilities, and park-ride facilities,” it added.
MWM Terminals, a consortium of Megawide Construction Corp. and WM Property Management Inc., was awarded to build the said terminal in January 2015 with public-private (Build-Transfer-Operate) cooperation period of 35 years inclusive of construction period.
