Philippine Airlines (PAL)’s newest aircraft Airbus A350-900, the Philippines’ first, arrived on July 16. The aircraft was welcomed with traditional water cannon salute.
According to Airbus, the A350-900 is the cornerstone member of Airbus’ all-new A350 XWB Family, which is shaping the future of medium, long and ultra-long haul travel.
“This jetliner accommodates 325 passengers in a standard three-class configuration (Business Class, Premium Economy and Regular Economy) and its state-of-the-art comfort and amenities ensure that everyone on-board enjoys a pleasant flight,” Airbus said. “As with all A350 XWB models, its fuselage is built with carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) – which supports lower fuel burn, easier maintenance and increased resistance to corrosion.”
With the arrival of PAL’s first Airbus A350-900, the flag carrier will be offering new non-stop flights to New York and London starting October 2018.
PAL ordered six A350-900s in February 2016. Complete delivery is expected 2020.
