The 20th Attack ‘Firebirds’ Squadron of Philippine Air Force (PAF) 15th Strike Wing will reportedly operate the upcoming two used Bell AH-1F Cobra attack helicopters from Jordan.

“The two AH-1F Cobra Attack Helicopters will be under the control of our 20th Attack Squadron “Firebirds” of the 15th Strike Wing who formerly flies the AUH76 Sikorsky and now the MG520 Defender,” Philippine aviation information page Pinoy Aviators said.

“These 2 Cobras will be their big toys. What a lucky firebirds,” it added.

Pinoy Aviators noted that though these helicopters are not brand new these assets “are real attack helicopters that will boost the air to the ground capability of the 15th Strike Wing.”

National Security Adviser Secretary Hermogenes C. Esperon Jr. “is now there in Jordan and I got this electronic copy for his authority to accept it,” President Rodrigo Duterte during the 120th anniversary event of Philippine Navy on May 22.
