The official arrival ceremony for the Embraer A-29B Super Tucano Close Air Support Aircraft is being organized, the Department of Foreign Affairs said September 20.
“Four fighter planes arrived yesterday, 19 September 2020, at the Clark International Airport and two more will arrive in the coming week. An official arrival ceremony is being organized,” DFA said.
It noted that the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia provided assistance in coordinating the ferry flight and other necessary arrangements with Embraer SA for the delivery of the said aircraft.
“The A-29B Super Tucano aircraft is designed for light attack, close air support, counter-insurgency, and aerial reconnaissance missions in low threat environments. Additionally, the said aircraft is designed to operate in high temperature and humidity conditions in extremely rugged terrain similar to the country’s operational environment,” DFA said.
