NPA members surrender in Sultan Kudarat

Philippine Army 6th Infantry Division (6ID) reported that 15 members of Yunit Militia (YUMIL), one Chairman of Kilusang Rebulusyunaryong Barangay (KRB) and eleven members of Pltn MyPhone all under GF73 of the New People’s Army voluntarily surrendered on August 31.

The surrenderors presented themselves to joint members of 33rd Infantry Battalion, Marine Battalion Landing Team-2, Senator Ninoy Aquino Municipal Police Station and 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion at Sitio Kisaday, Brgy Kuden, Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat.

6ID said the rebels brought with them 2 improvised bombs, 2 Cal 30 M1 Garand, 2 Cal 7.62mm Rifles, 1 Cal .30 Winchester Rifle, 1 40mm M79 Grenade Launcher, 2 Cal 45 Uzi Submachineguns, 1 Cal. 38, 1 9mm KG9 Submachinegun, 1 Cal. 45 M1911A1 Pistol, and a 12 gauge Shotgun.

“The rebel returnees decided to return to the folds of the law because of the hardships they experienced in hiding at the mountainous area of Sultan Kudarat while evading government troops. They also came to a realization of the false promises of their communist leaders,” 6ID said.

6ID said the surrenderors who will qualified in the E-CLIP will received an immediate assistance amounting to P15,000.00, firearm remuneration based on the type of surrendered firearms and livelihood assistance amounting to 50,000.00 pesos.
