The Philippine Navy’s newest frigate BRP Antonio Luna (FF151) has arrived in her deployment area for maritime and sovereignty patrols in West Philippine Sea.
“BRP ANTONIO LUNA (FF151) arrives in her deployment area to conduct Maritime and Sovereignty Patrol in the country’s western territory as her maiden mission,” FF152 information unit said.
“Her presence in West Philippine Sea on the commemoration of the country’s 123rd Independence Day embodies the strong resolve of the AFP to protect our maritime interest and sovereignty,” Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Command (WESCOM) commander Vice Admiral Ramil Enriquez said.
BRP Antonio Luna was sent off on June 10 in Manila.
“I want you to know how much pride and honor you carry and magnify for the entire Command by carrying the Philippine flag during your first and most challenging mission yet. Make waves, bow, and winds obey,” Philippine Navy Flag Officer-in-Command Rear Admiral Adeluis Bordado said during the send off ceremony.
