New PNR trains arrive from Indonesia

Indonesian Ambassador Dr. Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, and Philippine National Railways (PNR) General Manager Junn Magno lead the Arrival Ceremony of the Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) motor cars of the PNR today, 11 December 2019, in Tondo, Manila.

The Arrival Ceremony marks the official unveiling of the first six (6) DMU railcars that will form two (2) train sets for deployment on PNR’s FTI-Tutuban and FTI-Malabon routes starting 16 December 2019.

These two train sets will add 18 to 20 trips per day to these routes, increasing operational capacity to better serve the public.

The six (6) brand-new coaches are part of the 37 railcars and 3 locomotives acquired by PNR from PT Inka of Indonesia.

Also in attendance at the ceremony are Rep. Edgar Sarmiento, Rep. Micaela Violago, and former Rep. Ricky Sandoval.
