Navy’s 2 anti-submarine helicopters, 4 AAVs arriving March

The Philippine Navy is set to receive the 2 ordered anti-submarine helicopters and 4 of 8 ordered amphibious assault vehicles (AAVs) in March, Navy chief Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad said at the sidelines of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 2019 New Year’s Call held at the AFP Commissioned Officers’ Club in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City January 8.

He said the AAVs will be used by the Philippine Marines. “Eight ‘yun pero four ang darating ngayong March. Maganda ‘yung capability nun,” Vice Admiral Empedrad said.

The AAVs will be delivered by South Korean Hanwha Techwin, formerly Samsung Techwin.
