Navy elite unit champions SWAT Challenge Stage 12

The Philippine Navy (PN) Teams emerged as one of the top winners in a week-long 2nd PNP Chief Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Challenge that was held last week in Davao City.

In the AFP Category, the Navy Team 1 composed of Naval Special Operation Unit 8 (NAVSOU8) led by Lt Ralph Christian A Chan PN placed first Runner-up after the Army Marksmanship Training Unit of the Philippine Army that bagged the Championship in this category. Meanwhile, Navy Team 2 composed of NAVSOU7 received the 5th place.

On the other hand, the Navy Team 1 was awarded as Champion in the Stage Category for the fastest time over-all in stage 12 with 8 minutes and 47 seconds.

All the winning teams were awarded morning of November 26 at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City with the Chief PNP, Police Director General Oscar Albayalde as Guest of Honor.

Commander Bernardo F Manarpaac PN, the Acting Director for Directorate for Community and Special Service Office under Naval Installation Command received the award on behalf of the Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy.

The SWAT Challenge was a competition among the SWAT units of the PNP and special elite tactical units of the Army, Navy and the Air Force. It aims to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and the tactical proficiency of the elite forces. Philippine Navy
