Philippine Navy’s Philippine Fleet has added new fleet ratings which are “intended for the current and future capabilities of the Philippine Navy,” the Philippine Fleet said.
Philippine Fleet commander Rear Admiral Gaudencio C. Collado Jr. led the pinning of Missile Man (MM), Fire Control Man (FCM) and Operations Specialist (OS) Chevron.
The ceremony was held on February 23 at Captain Moya Boat Landing, Naval Base Heracleo Alano, Sangley Point, Cavite City.
This was held ahead of the expected installation of Israeli missile systems to Philippine Navy’s three units of Multi-Purpose Attack Craft (MPAC) Mark III.
In May 2017, a total of 3 MPAC Mark IIIs were activated to navy service ahead of the installation of their missile systems procured from Israel. The ordered weapons from Israel were scheduled to be delivered in December 2017, however, delivery was moved to early this year.
