The groundbreaking ceremony for MVP Cybersecurity Center for Excellence inside the Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City was held on January 13.
The cybersecurity facility is being developed under the partnership of Philippine Air Force (PAF) and PLDT Group.
PAF commanding general Lieutenant General Allen Paredes and PLDT Group chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan attended the said event with other PAF and PLDT Group officials.
“We are one with the government in ensuring that our country is safe from cyber threats. We look forward to more engagements with the Philippine Air Force and the Armed Forces of the Philippines on this front,” PLDT’s Pangilinan said.
PAF said the first ever MVP Cybersecurity Center for Excellence aims to establish a cybersecurity facility to enhance the cyber defense capability of the PAF in line with its modernization efforts towards Flight Plan 2028.
PAF added that the project is a testament of the joint commitment and faith in the PAF and PLDT-SMART in their collaborative engagement to achieve a resilient cybersecurity posture for our nation.
“This state-of-the-art facility will house the PAF Security Operations Center, Network Operations Center and Cyber Range which will serve as the training ground for future PAF cyber warriors,” PAF said.
