Military holds fleet review, wing flyby

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) today, December 16 conducted a fleet review and wing flyby as part of its 85th founding anniversary celebration.

The event was attended by National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, AFP chief General Gilbert Gapay, Army commander Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana, Navy chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, Air Force commander Lieutenant General Allen Paredes, and other top defense and military officials.

Among the floating assets that participated are frigate BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150), offshore patrol vessel BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS-16), patrol ship BRP Emilio Jacinto (PS-35), BRP Davao Del Sur (LD-602), landing craft BRP Batak (LC-299), patrol craft BRP Abraham Campo (PC-396), and BRP Ang Pangulo (AT-25).

Onboard BRP Batak are Philippine Army’s Simba and the Philippine Marine Corps’ V-150.

Among the air assets are three FA-50PHs, two AW-159 “Wildcat” anti-submarine helicopters, three AW-109 helicopters, and two brand new S-70i “Black Hawk” combat utility helicopters.

BRP Tarlac (LD-601) served as the reviewing ship.
