Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto was given a lifetime supply of food by restaurant Bad Bird for “decisive, grounded, and empathetic leadership defined by principles, not politics” during this time crisis brought by pandemic disease COVID-19.
Bad Bird – with branches in SM Megamall, BGC, Robinsons Manila, and Hole in the Wall Makati – explained that they are “not exactly in a position to donate. We’re also barely staying alive as we’ve extended financial assistance to our staff and that’s all we’ve got right now. This post wasn’t meant to be a donation, but a show of support for a good leader who must be given a larger audience.”
“Bearing the weight of a loaded family name, Mayor Vico Sotto has shown us that you can defy fate and carve out your own path, one painted with kindness and strength,” the restaurant said in its social networking page.
“This man has shown us decisive, grounded, and empathetic leadership defined by principles, not politics,” it added. “And he has done this without a cheesy billboard on EDSA.”
“A crisis squeezes out the true nature of a person’s humanity—and right now, we like what we’re seeing in these tough times,” it said.
“Mayor Vico Sotto of Pasig City, we hereby bestow upon you a lifetime supply of food from Bad Bird,” Bad Bird said. “Just walk into any of our restaurants and eat and you will be treated like royalty.”
