Manila International Container Terminal gets new, largest quay cranes

The Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) today, June 8 formally got three new quay cranes during a turn over ceremony witnessed by Transportation Assistant Secretary for Maritime Fernando Juan Perez.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said the three new cranes which arrived on June 7 are the largest cranes in any port in the country.

“Two more cranes are expected to arrive on the first half of 2019,” DOTr said.

“Currently, two Neo-Panamax cranes and one Post-Panamax crane are being transferred to Berths 6 and 5, respectively,” it added.
