To ensure operational readiness of BRP Davao Del Sur (LD602) and BRP Andres Bonifacio (FF17) ahead of send off for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2018 in Hawaii, crew members have undergone operational readiness evaluation.
The Special Operational Readiness Evaluation (ORE) was conducted by Fleet Training and Doctrine Center (FTDC) of Philippine Fleet.
BRP Davao Del Sur (LD602) and BRP Andres Bonifacio (FF17), both part of Naval Task Force (NTF) RIMPAC, are now in Cebu prior to official send off on June 6.
This is the first time the Philippines is sending ships to RIMPAC. RIMPAC 2018 is scheduled to officially start on June 27 and will end on August 2.
An AW 109 naval helicopter, a Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) team, one Marine Company, components from Civil Military Operations (CMO), Training, Medical, Legal, and students from different Philippine Navy education and training schools are also part of NTF RIMPAC.
