“The fact that there are – Chinese vessels ng mga militia, not even fishermen, anong ini-indicate noon? Tapos sasabihin natin hindi naman tayo pwedeng makipagiyera sa China, isang missile lang tapos na tayo. So kung ganun rin lang, pasakop na tayo, ‘di ba?” Senator Ping Lacson told CNN Philippines’ The Source on April 3.
“Alam mo nang mahina ka, ‘wag mo nang ipagsigawan na mahina ka kasi lalo kang ibu-bully,” he added.
This is after Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Command reported that hundreds of Chinese boats considered as maritime militia were sighted near Pag-asa Island during the first quarter of 2019.
Also, President Rodrigo Duterte has stated in several speeches that the Philippines cannot win war against China in West Philippine Sea.
“[K]ailangan natin ‘yang China Sea na ‘yan. China Sea na ‘yan sige ako binabanatan nila. Am I prepared to go to war? I am not,” he said during Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LABAN) Campaign Rally in Koronadal City on March 26. “Will we win the war? No. What? It will just create a massacre. Maubos lang sundalo ko pulis diyan.”
He said that “in seven minutes ‘pag inatake mo ang – inatake ko ang China in seven minutes ‘yung missile nilang pinakamalapit will hit Manila in seven minutes.”
“Tapos gusto nila akong mag – ‘yung mga g***. Tayo wala tayong magawa, ganun tayo ka ano eh. Ang America magtulong?” he noted.
