Japanese official visits PHL’s Japan-made multi-role vessel

Japan’s Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism Mr. Kiichii Ishii conducted an ocular inspection and visit onboard Parola-class Multi-role Response Vessel BRP Capones (MRRV 4404) at the National Headquarters Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) today April 29, the PCG said.

The Japanese official was accompanied Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade and Rear Admiral Elson P. Hermogino.

BRP Capones is the fourth Parola-class MRRV delivered by Japan Marine United through the Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project (MSCIP) for PCG Phase 1.

MSCIP for PCG Phase 1 was funded through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) official development assistance (ODA) loan.

A total of 10 Parola-class vessels were ordered, 8 are already in active PCG service.
