The Philippine Navy, through its Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), welcomed the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Training Squadron composed of JS Kashima (TV 3508) and JS Setoyuki (TV 3518) at Sasa Wharf, Davao City for their port visit and reprovisioning.
The visit started on July 9 and ended on July 11, 2021.
“The Command conducted several activities during their arrival and departure in Davao City, including a modified welcome and send-off ceremony, a virtual PN organizational briefing, and at-sea exercises,” NFEM said.
“During the at-sea event, Communications Exercise (COMMEX), Passing Exercise (PASSEX), and a Photo Exercise (PHOTOEX) were performed,” it added. “The Philippine Navy assets that participated in the said exercises were BRP Apolinario Mabini (PS36), BA486 and NV394. This visit further strengthens the two navies’ already strong relationship and reaffirms the PN’s firm commitment in maintaining good relations with other foreign navies.”
