Japanese destroyer visiting Philippines on weekend

Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Asagiri-class destroyer, JS Amagiri (DD-154), is scheduled to conduct a goodwill visit in the Philippines starting February 2.

JS Amagiri will dock at Pier 13 of Manila South Harbor, Philippine Navy spokesperson Captain Lued Lincuna said. The goodwill visit will end on February 4.

The Japanese warship will be visiting along with a DH-60J patrol helicopter.

“Welcome ceremony and port briefing will be conducted upon arrival of the JMSDF vessel at Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila after a customary meeting procedure with BRP Rajah Humabon (PS-11) at the vicinity of Corregidor Island, Manila Bay,” Lincuna said as quoted by PNA.
