The Design Team of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) together with representatives from Department of Transportation (DOTr), Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), and Clark International Airport conducted a site inspection of the future Clark International Airport Station of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) Manila-Clark Project.
Japan through JICA will fund the project through Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan.
“Once this railway line becomes operational in 2020, travel from Tutuban to Clark will be reduced to only 55 minutes,” DOTr said.
PNR Manila-Clark Project is divided into two phases, the 38-kilometer segment from Tutuban to Malolos and the 69.5-kilometer segment from Malolos to Clark International Airport and New Clark City.
Commencement of work ceremony for the first phase was conducted in January.
