Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said during an online briefing that the Japanese government will provide the antiviral medication Avigan to be tested on 100 patients in the Philippines.
She said that the drug is expected to arrive in the country “in these coming days.”
“Ang ating protocol ay ginagawa pa lang, but what I can tell you is that the Japanese government is providing us with a supply of this drug for 100 patients,” the health undersecretary said.
“Because this is a clinical trial, the informed consent should be there,” she noted.
