Japan reaffirms support to PHL in field of information communications technology

The Japanese official visited Ambassador Laurel to discuss cooperation between the Philippines and Japan in the information communications technology (ICT) field, the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo said.

“The MIC has continuously supported Philippine endeavors on infrastructure, specifically on telecommunication and information,” the Philippine embassy said.


It noted that the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have signed two agreements with MIC in the Field of ICT in 2014 and 2017, respectively.

“Vice-Minister Yoshida stated that he hopes to create a good infrastructure environment of ICT together with the Philippines, and further expand this cooperation on a global scale,” the Philippine embassy added.
