Israeli Elbit supplying tactical radio systems to ‘customer in Asia-Pacific’

Elbit Systems Ltd. has announced that it was selected by a customer in Asia-Pacific to supply tactical radio systems under $33 million worth contract.

“The contract will be performed over a 12-month period,” Elbit said in a statement October 1.

Elbit said that under the contract the they will equip the customer’s artillery and infantry forces with tactical radio systems including vehicular, man-packed and handheld configurations.

“The radio systems feature advanced networking capabilities enabling reliable and secure voice and data communication services over extended ranges,” Elbit said.

“This contract award follows a recent decision by the customer to equip its Army with additional networked combat solutions from Elbit Systems, including E-LynX Software Defined Radios (SDR) and TORCH-X Command and Control systems,” the Israeli company said.

Elbit Systems noted that its radio solutions have been selected by numerous armed forces around the world, including those of Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and Israel.
