The Philippine Army and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are set to hold first training collaboration which will be a Counter-Terrorism Trainer’s Training (CTTT).
In line with this, delegates from IDF, headed by Brig. Gen. Dan Goldfus, paid a courtesy call to the Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto.
The Philippine Army said the CTTT aims to enhance the counter-terrorism capabilities of Army personnel.
“It also aims to improve the operational and instructional skills of the PA Training Schools in anti-terrorism and combat techniques,” it added.
Brig. Gen. Goldfus acknowledged that there are many lessons their soldiers could also learn from the Philippine Army based on what happened in Marawi as well as its other combat experiences.
“The Philippine Army sees the collaboration with other armies in addressing terrorism as necessary after its experience during the Marawi Siege in 2017. Terrorism is a complex threat that requires international cooperation and the continuous exchange of knowledge and information,” Lt. Gen. Alberto said.
