Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), also known as Southwest Integrated Transport System (ITS) Project, is now at 91.54% completion rate, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.
The integrated terminal is expected to be inaugurated next month.
MWM Terminals, a consortium of Megawide Construction Corp. and WM Property Management Inc., was awarded to build the said terminal in January 2015 with public-private (Build-Transfer-Operate) cooperation period of 35 years inclusive of construction period.
“PITX was designed to resemble an airport terminal with multi-level platforms. It will have passenger terminal buildings, loading and unloading bays, staging bays, ticketing and baggage handling facilities, and park-ride facilities,” DOTr said.
The terminal is being constructed in a 4.59-hectare site in Parañaque City.
Megawide said the terminal will link all provincial buses from Cavite to other modes of inter-city transport such as buses, taxis, app-based transport, and a walkway to the future LRT 1 South Extension.
“It is also equipped with an Online Bus Ticketing System, an online and on-site booking and ticketing system for a faster and easier commuting experience. The terminal will also be equipped with Wi-Fi and charging points,” DOTr said.
