IBF Super Flyweight Champion Jerwin Ancajas promoted to Reserve Senior Chief Petty Officer

International Boxing Federation (IBF) Super Flyweight Champion Jerwin J. Ancajas was promoted to Reserve Senior Chief Petty Officer this morning, Aug 19 at Headquarters Philippine Navy in a donning of ranks ceremony led by the Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy (PN), Vice Admiral Robert A. Empedrad.

The former Reserve Chief Petty Officer was promoted to next higher rank following his display of exemplary commitment in bringing honor to our country and prestige to the naval organization by successfully defending his boxing title in Stockton, California last May 05, 2019.

Likewise, selected Navy officers were awarded for their excellent performance of duty and outstanding academic achievement. Former Commander, Naval Forces Western Mindanao and incumbent Commander, Western Command, Vice Admiral Rene Medina, received an award for leading the men and women of NFWM to accomplishing its mission during his tour of duty as head of the naval force. While Colonel Gieram R. Aragones and Lt. Cdr. Allan Noveno were both recognized for receiving distinction in their respective studies.

The Philippine Navy recognizes the hard work, dedication and commitment of the members of its Fleet-Marine Team. These recognition and awards are testimonies of this naval organization composed of hard working, above-average, motivated and competitive Sailors and Marines. PHILIPPINE NAVY
