Grenade launcher, 5 live ammo seized in Sultan Kudarat

Troops of 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion seized 1 loose firearm during the conduct of combat clearing operation in the town of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat at around 4:30 in the morning on January 26, 2019.

Acted in a report from concern resident of Brgy Didtaraz of said town, troops of Mechanized Platoon were able to seize one homemade M79 grenade launcher with five live ammunition from a certain Noel Agduma Macho. 

Said personality undergone custodial debriefing and was formally turned over to the PNP for appropriate disposition and filling of cases. 

“The aggressive drive against unlicensed guns is in response to President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against criminality,” said Major General Cirilito E Sobejana, Commander, 6th Infantry Division. “The pro-active measures we have been conducting through clearing operation with the help of the communities’ pre-empted terroristic activities of criminals and extremist groups.”

“I also commend Ltc Alvin Iyog, Commanding Officer of 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion and its troops for the accomplishment in our campaign against proliferation of loose firearms.” Major General Sobejana added. 6ID
