The Department of Transportation (DOTr), headed by Secretary Art Tugade, met with officials of World Bank and the French Development Agency to discuss the development of Integrated/Intermodal Transportation System (ITS) in Metro Cebu on August 15.

Secretary Tugade was accompanied by Undersecretary for Finance Garry De Guzman, Undersecretary for Planning Benny Reinoso, Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and Procurement Reinier Yebra, Assistant Secretary for Road Transport Mark De Leon, and Assistant Secretary for Procurement and Project Implementation Giovanni Lopez.

The Metro Cebu ITS will include a point-to-point (P2P) bus system similar to MyBus, which is already operational in the city; a monorail in Lapu-Lapu City; the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in three-lane roads; and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines from Carcar to Danao, and Mandaue to Airport.
