Filipino airmen, US Marines hold surface-to-air missile simulation

Filipino airmen and United States Marines have partnered during a surface-to-air missile simulation as part of exercise KAMANDAG 3 at Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, October 10, 2019.

FIM-92 Stinger Man-Portable Air-Defense System (MANPADS) was used during the said engagement.

On October 9, a subject matter expert exchange (SMEE) on FIM-92 Stinger Man-Portable Air-Defense System (MANPADS) was also held.

This year’s Philippines-US KAMANDAG, which stands for Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat, is in its third year. It is being held from October 9 to 18.

Activities for KAMANDAG involves training in amphibious operations, live fire drills, military operations in urban terrain, reconnaissance, low altitude air defense, aviation operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, combat lifesaving, and other areas.
