The multi-role fighter (MRF) acquisition project for the Philippine Air Force (PAF) is now in the process of securing funding from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for the required 15% deposit and for approval of President Rodrigo Duterte, MaxDefense Philippines said November 2.

“[T]he Philippines is still in the process of getting the DBM to secure the 15% deposit required for the Multirole Fighter project, and getting Pres. Duterte to approve the fighter which was approved by Senior Leaders and signed by Defense [Secretary Delfin] Lorenzana last Wednesday,” MaxDefense said.

MaxDefense Philippines made the statement as “Taiwan moves closer on ordering 66 new Lockheed Martin F-16 Blk 70/72 Vipers as their parliament approves the funding.”
