Electronics firm puts up in PHL to avoid costs in China

Ever Win, a California-based electronic products manufacturer with operations in China, is putting up a manufacturing facility in the Philippines. According to its company website, Ever Win produces accessories for Apple to Android, power to audio, and wired to wireless.

According to DTI Export Marketing Bureau Director Senen M. Perlada, the said firm is supposed to operate ASAP.

“Meron na sila. Ang challenge namin is to get them to produce right away kasi inaantay na ’yung production nila ng gadgets,” he said as quoted by Business World.

“The reason that they gave us, and I saw, is that China is becoming more expensive to be a manufacturing location. So essentially if you look at the so-called US-China trade war, it was incidental because really, China was getting expensive,” Perlada added.

“Finactor in na nila ’yan (Tax Reform for Attracting Better and High-quality Opportunities bill) compared to what they are actually experiencing in China. So I think it was a very deliberate decision on their part to do that,”  he said.
