President Rodrigo Duterte, in an address to people aired April 24, said that he did not said he will declare martial law for stricter implementation of the enhanced community quarantine. “I never said I will declare martial law kasi ‘yung martial law ho para lang ‘yan sa mga rebelde, para sa mga komunista,” he said.
However, the President said he may declare martial law because of communist’s lawlessness.
“Now, let me be very clear on this, if itong lawlessness which is imposed on us by the NPAs for the longest time, 53 years, maski saang probinsya may NPA. Kanina o kahapon, dalawang army nag-escort para ideliver ang supply sa mga tao pati pera pinatay ninyo. If that is not lawlessness, what is that?” President Duterte said.
“‘Pag nagpatuloy kayo ng lawlessness ninyo, patay dito, patay doon and it’s happening all over the Philippines, maybe I will declare martial law, because kayong mga NPA ang numero uno. Kinukuha ninyo ‘yung mga tulong sa tao pati ‘yung supply, pagkain nila,” he added..
“I am now warning everybody and putting notice sa armed forces pati police, I might declare martial law and there will be no turning back. Kung ano ang martial law na klaseng gagawin ko akin lang ‘yan,” President Duterte said.
“I have two more years, I will try to finish all of you (communist). Pati kayong mga [legal-fronts] magtago na kayo,” Duterte said. He said the armed-wing of the communist is sourcing money through the legal-fronts.
“Do not force my hand into it, kung hindi, ‘pag martial law lahat kayong mga legal fronts magtago na kayo, magtago na kayo,” the President said.
